About Program
The MS Medical Laboratory Technology program is designed for graduates who want advanced and specialized training in the major areas of diagnostic clinical laboratory practice. It develops deeper professional knowledge in medical laboratory sciences and prepares students to work with both routine and specialized diagnostic procedures used in the investigation, diagnosis, and management of disease.
The program strengthens the technical and analytical abilities required of medical laboratory technologists and laboratory scientists. Students gain exposure to advanced laboratory practices, modern diagnostic methods, and professional decision-making relevant to clinical and research laboratories.
Objectives
- Provide advanced practical training and specialized instruction across key areas of medical laboratory sciences.
- Develop the knowledge, technical skills, professional attitude, and clinical judgment required for competent laboratory practice.
- Prepare students to apply modern laboratory methodologies, automated analyzers, quality-focused procedures, critical thinking, and task management in diagnostic settings.
- Enable graduates to produce reliable, accurate, and precise laboratory results that support disease detection, diagnosis, and treatment.
Eligibility Criteria
- Academic Qualification: Applicants must hold a BSc (Hons) in Medical Laboratory Technology or an MSc in Medical Technology from an HEC-recognized university.
- Admission Test: A minimum score of 50% in the NTS GAT-General is required for admission.
