BS Sociology

About Program

The BS Sociology program is designed to build a strong understanding of society through sociological theory, research methods, and applied social analysis. Students study a range of areas including population dynamics, social statistics, gender issues, development, deviance, and other contemporary social concerns.

The program combines theoretical learning with research-oriented training so that students can examine social structures, institutions, behavior, and changing social conditions from a broad and informed perspective. This interdisciplinary outlook helps students develop the analytical skills needed to understand complex social issues and contribute meaningfully to research, policy, community development, and related professional fields.

Objectives

  1. Promote high standards of education and research in Sociology.
  2. Provide opportunities for students to continue higher education after HSSC and strengthen their academic qualifications.
  3. Develop a sound understanding of both theoretical and applied Sociology.
  4. Build students’ ability to think critically and creatively about society and contemporary social issues.
  5. Provide a strong foundation in sociological theory, research methods, and the study of social problems.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Academic Qualification: Applicants must have completed Intermediate such as FA/FSc, or an equivalent qualification representing 12 years of education, with at least 45% marks.
  • A-Level Equivalence: Candidates with A-Level qualifications are required to provide an equivalence certificate issued by the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC).
