About Program
The BS Renal Dialysis Technology program is a four-year undergraduate degree designed to prepare students for professional roles in dialysis and renal care. It develops a strong foundation in the basic medical sciences before progressing to specialized areas such as renal physiology, dialysis procedures, machine operation, water treatment systems, vascular access, patient monitoring, and the management of complications associated with dialysis.
Practical learning is an important part of the program, with students receiving supervised clinical training in dialysis and hospital settings. The curriculum combines classroom teaching, laboratory practice, clinical demonstrations, and modern learning methods to help students translate theoretical knowledge into safe and effective patient care.
Along with technical competence, the program emphasizes professional ethics, communication, teamwork, patient safety, and basic research skills. Graduates may pursue opportunities in dialysis units, nephrology departments, transplant centers, tertiary care hospitals, renal technology services, and related healthcare organizations, while also building a foundation for postgraduate study in allied health and renal sciences.
Eligibility Criteria
- Academic Qualification: Applicants with HSSC in the Pre-Medical group or A-Levels with an IBCC equivalence certificate are eligible to apply with at least 50% marks.
- Relevant Diploma: Candidates holding a diploma in a relevant field may also apply with at least 50% marks under the annual system or a minimum 2.00/4.00 CGPA under the semester system, together with the required IBCC equivalence certificate.
- Entry Test: Applicants are required to appear in an entry test conducted by the university or a registered testing agency.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear in an interview conducted by the university as part of the admission process.
