BS Cardiac Care Technology

About Program

The BS Cardiac Care Technology program is a four-year professional degree focused on the assessment, diagnosis, and clinical support of patients with cardiovascular conditions. The program develops a strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, patient monitoring, and commonly used diagnostic procedures such as electrocardiography (ECG), echocardiography, and exercise or stress testing.

Students receive practical training in cardiac diagnostic techniques and learn how to assist cardiologists and other healthcare professionals in evaluating heart-related conditions and monitoring patients. Graduates may pursue professional roles in hospitals, cardiac care centers, diagnostic laboratories, emergency and critical care units, and related healthcare facilities as cardiac technologists, ECG technicians, and cardiovascular diagnostic professionals.

Eligibility Criteria

  • 4 Years: Applicants with HSSC in Pre-Medical or Relevant Technology, or A-Levels with an IBCC equivalence certificate, may apply with at least 50% marks. Candidates holding a diploma from a recognized Medical Faculty in a relevant field are also eligible with at least 50% marks under the annual system or a minimum 2.00/4.00 CGPA under the semester system, together with the required IBCC equivalence.
  • 2.5 Years: Candidates with an Associate Degree in a non-relevant Allied Health discipline may be considered for the 2.5-year track with at least 50% marks under the annual system or a minimum 2.00/4.00 CGPA from a recognized university or DAI, subject to departmental approval. Such students will complete a bridge semester in the relevant discipline before continuing with the prescribed scheme from the 5th through the 8th semester.
  • 2 Years: Applicants holding an Associate Degree in Relevant Technology with a minimum 2.00/4.00 CGPA from a recognized university or DAI may enter the degree from the 5th semester. Additional credit hours may be assigned where necessary to align prior study with the program requirements.
