BS Medical Laboratory Technology

About Program

The BS Medical Laboratory Technology (Allied Health Sciences) program combines core medical sciences with practical laboratory training. Students study areas such as clinical biochemistry, hematology, microbiology, pathology, immunology, and molecular diagnostics while developing experience with modern laboratory procedures and equipment.

The program prepares graduates to perform reliable diagnostic testing, follow quality-control and biosafety standards, interpret and communicate laboratory findings, and support clinical decision-making. It also develops skills for research, evidence-based practice, and continued professional growth in hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, research centers, and other healthcare settings.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Academic Qualification: Applicants must have completed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (12 years of education) in the Pre-Medical group or a relevant discipline, or hold an IBCC-equivalent qualification, with at least 50% cumulative marks.
  • Admission Test / Merit: The university may prescribe a higher eligibility threshold above 50% and may require an entry or admission test conducted through its own testing system or a recognized external testing service, in accordance with the screening, admission, and merit criteria approved by the relevant statutory bodies.
